The majority of women and girls in Sri Lanka have no knowledge of the law or of their rights protected by the law, nor have they the financial -means of defending these rights in court.
WIN’s victims are provided free legal advice and are represented in court as and when required. These victims are made aware of their legal rights and legal position, assisting them to decide which mode of action to take against the perpetrator.
WIN deals with cases pertaining to domestic violence, rape, incest, sexual abuse, harassment and child abuse.
WIN has a team of 15 lawyers and 24 counsellors, who specialise in the field of gender based violence and deal with thousands of GBV, mostly domestic violence, cases every year.
Our team is driven by the passion to strengthen and protect victims dealing with violence and abuse, ensuring strict confidentiality of identity; while also striving to ensure that the violence is not repeated, and the victims’ rights are protected.
